Baptism

After the age of 7, children are considered to have reached the age of reason. Because of this, their preparation for Baptism is different from that of infants and younger children. They are invited to personally learn about, understand, and respond to the Catholic faith as they prepare to receive the sacrament.

Children age 7 and older who are seeking Baptism begin their preparation by enrolling in Religious Education. Through faith formation, prayer, and participation in the life of the Church, they grow in their understanding of Jesus and prepare to personally profess and embrace their faith as they receive the Sacrament of Baptism.
